The Slippery Art of Book Reviewing
Learn the benefits of reviewing for aspiring and experienced authors and understand what makes a good review and what makes a good reviewer. The course covers how to write a thoughtful, professional book review whether it is
positive or negative and learn the difference between a review and an endorsement; a review vs. a
book report; a review vs. a critique; a review vs. book criticism. Also learn how to rate books, handle the problems reviewers’ face and understand FTC regulations.

How to Hire (or Fire) an Agent
Hiring the wrong agent can wreak havoc on your writing career for years to come. Protect yourself by learning how to choose the right one. If you’ve already chosen the wrong one, learn how to conduct a graceful “divorce.” Topics to be discussed include: when to hire an agent, where to find one, identifying red flags, signs of a keeper, and how to tell when it’s time to let go.
