In a joint effort with comadre Dr. Ligia Buzan and Kidzbusiness.com, Las Comadres is offering courses to prepare our YOUTH for an Entrepreneurial State of Mind. Regardless of whether youth end up working for others or for themselves, the skill set they develop will help prepare them for the world of work.

We believe that students learn when they are truly interested and when learning is fun and accessible. Given the global environment that we live in, formal classroom learning is becoming a smaller percentage of the total learning of young people. We have created KidzBusiness to be a learning playground where young entrepreneurs’ creativity and love of games are directed into new ventures and into the creation of wealth for families and communities.
A lot of kids are on their computers these days. We teach ONLINE to meet these kids where they are daily, AND we help them bring what they learn into the reality of their families. We support them to create a new venture, sell, learn about money, design websites and get involved with real life projects together with other kids. These projects may be "internships" that kids design about issues they care, and that they can put on a resume later. These projects may turn out to be great businesses to finance their college.
Today, there are many new jobs that require skills such as problem solving, creativity, critical thinking, financial skills, and innovation. These are essential characteristics for employees as much as for business owners. Information and entertainment reach us on the web or phone. New applications connect us all in ways you could have not imagined a few years ago. If we train young people early in life to discover and think creatively about new business opportunities, if we offer them frameworks and tools to learn and to build their best lives ever, we can expect a surge of wealth and creativity in the coming years. Kids will be self-directed and will not expect any institutions to hand them jobs or solutions.
We teach ONLINE. Some courses are taught LIVE. The platform we use for classes is the same as those being used by U.K. Open University (Moodle) and many other famous institutions. We enroll students from all over the US. We offer teachings from some of the best educators. Our courses are jam-packed with hands on, useful information that can be applied immediately to real life situations. Our courses are delivered online through a variety of means. These will include: online tutorials, videos and different kinds of presentations, backup handouts, weekly exercises, access to the online tutors either via email, phone, Skype, or a messenger facility.
We believe that in the future many more students will be trained to find the best sources of learning on the web. This rapidly changing environment requires a NEW SET OF SKILLS to enable young people to adapt more quickly. It's all about the reality of using technology to improve our lives.
In all our programs, kids and teens receive a lot of guidance to explore their talents. They learn basic business skills (finance, marketing, sales, building a business, etc), and are engaged in projects where they learn how to look for and find opportunities that serve their communities or the world. We encourage students to move the learning from the classroom into real life projects. KidzBusiness' team of teachers and educators evaluate all projects developed in class, and decide which projects are viable to develop further.
