About the Author
Best known for co-authoring the film Real Women Have Curves, Josefina Lopez was five years old when she and her family immigrated to East Los Angeles from San Luis Potosi, Mexico in 1969.
Today, the author is a noted recipient of many awards and accolades. Lopez dedications this book include those to her parents who lived their lives as “immigrants with dignity and sacrificed so much to give their children an education and better life” and to her brothers and sisters who “all have become exemplary models of successful American citizens.” |
