Best Magazine Design, Best Travel Section and
Best Technology Section
Recognition presented by National Association of Hispanic Publications
(McAllen, TX)—With only three issues under its belt, Bodas USA La Revista®, the only Spanish-language bridal magazine in the United States won three Gold Awards from the National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP) during the 24th annual convention held in McAllen, Texas from March 11-14.
The 152-page glossy won Gold in three categories: Best Magazine Design; Best Travel Section; and Best Technology Section. It also garnished a Silver Award for Best Media Kit and a Bronze Award for Entertainment Section.
“We are very honored that a panel of judges made up of renowned journalist, marketing and publication experts recognized our magazine in various categories and that the feedback we received from our peers in the magazine and in the newspaper industry highlighted our top-editorial content and outstanding magazine design,” said Lilian de la Torre-Jimenez, publisher of Bodas USA La Revista®.
NAHP member publications include Hispanic-owned dailies, weeklies and magazines. The five awards received by Bodas USA La Revista® were in the category of magazines up to 30,000 in circulation. The bridal magazine is available nationwide at select Barnes & Nobles, Bordersincluding Borders in Hawaii and in Puerto RicoCVS pharmacies in Florida, Hispanic supermarkets in California, newsstands in Baja, Mexico and at the San Ysidro border crossing point. Bodas USA La Revista® digital edition is read worldwide with increasing popularity in the following top ten countries: United States, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica and Chile.
The award-winning travel section of the Summer/Fall 09 edition includes a special section dedicated to Baja as a wedding and honeymoon destination place. It will highlight the many opportunities available for brides to be in the neighboring country in port cities such as Ensenada, Mexico. It also showcases weddings from California, San Antonio, Texas, Puerto Rico and Puebla, Mexico.
In its award-winning entertainment section (Bodas de Famosos) it highlights the wedding of Berenice Ruan, a Telefutura reporter as well as her honeymoon in Europe; the wedding of Sonia Yvette Perez, daughter of renown Latino journalist Maclovio Perez in historic San Antonio, Texas; and the live in studio wedding of a California couple at the Viva La Familia Univision TV show aired on February 14, 2009 where actor Sergio Mayer walked the bride to be down the aisle, a wedding coordinated by Bodas USA La Revista in collaboration with many of its promotional partners.
In the center-fold of the much anticipated Summer/Fall 09 issue, a bridal gown photoshoot conducted by renowned photographer Salvador Pozo in The Netherlands features “Trends in Europe”.
