I-ASK: THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF STORYKEEPERS

Queridas comadres, ever since I heard NPR's StoryCorp concept—traveling story mobile that records some family stories in specific towns—I have been intrigued with the idea of providing a way for recording our family histories. I had been trying to figure out how we could accomplish something similar for Las Comadres...how we could help our comadres and our families preserve and celebrate our culture which is one of our foremost goals. I was seeking a way that was not labor intensive for us as an organization to provide you with a tool to accomplish recording your stories.

Many of us are at a point where our parents are no longer able to share the family history that is locked in their heads either because they have passed on or because they cannot communicate coherently. For those of you who are fortunate enough to have your parents and access to your family history, you need to record your story and make it accessible to your family now and in the future.

We discovered an organization that helps us accomplish just this! The program is called The Family StoryKeeper. The organization is called the International Association of StoryKeepers (I-ASK). The organization in partnership with the Treasury of Family Heritage has launched the "Great Heritage Campaign".

Las Comadres has partnered with I-ASK to bring you this wonderful program. Comadres and friends who purchase the product through our organization's portal below receive deep discounts which accrue to us as a fundraiser. We are able to both help you preserve and celebrate culture and make some much needed revenue for our operations. Tell your friends about this and send them to our website to look at the program, and if they chose to purchase it, our organization can benefit.

We hope you will see the value of this program and consider purchasing it. It has a number of different formats. All these are explained in detail on the I-ASK website. If you wish to receive more information, click on the image link below.
